Prof. Gamini Senanayake, vice Chancellor of University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, Tilak Priyadarshana, Professor of University of Ruhuna accompanied by Dr. Gang Pan from South China Sea Institute of Oceanology visited ICCES on November 9, 2015.   

Prof. Riyu Lu, Ms. Lu Zhang, Prof Zhaohui Lin and other scientists from ICCES also attended the meeting.    

The meeting was opened by a welcome speech made by Prof. Riyu Lu. He said: on behalf of IAP and ICCES, we welcome the delegation of Ruhuna University to China. Because of deeper and more frequent visits and communication, the cooperation in the field of climate and environmental science between China and Sri Lanka will become more constructive, and we hope young scientists will benefit from the cooperation.    

Prof. Xiaodong Zeng gave a presentation on history and development of ICCES, and he euphemized the development of CAS Earth model, short term prediction and the performance of CTWF and international cooperation between ICCES and other developing countries. Prof. Gamini Senanayake and Tilak Priyadarshana introduced the University of Ruhuna and its Collaborations with China respectively.   

Both parties agreed on collaborate on joint research, joint training workshop, and personal exchange. Prof. Lin also invited University of Ruhuna to 2016 CTWF and international training workshop.
