2021 IAP Annual Meeting

2021 IAP annual meeting was held on Jan 14, 2021, with most of IAP staff attending online. The meeting was chaired by Prof LU Riyu, the IAP Secretary General.
Prof. CAO Junji, the IAP Director General, presented an overview of 2020, covering summaries of major projects, publication, main research progress, talents, international cooperation and other aspects and stated plans for 2021.
In 2020, IAP rotated its leadership, established a new research center of carbon neutrality and continued high-quality publication in world leading journals.
In 2021, IAP plans to levitate and coordinate resources around “carbon neutrality” research and provide science consultancy to policy makers, continue to build “EarthLab”—the CAS Earth System Science Model, and improve talent assessment system and research condition.
Prof CAO said, in the very difficult year of 2020, IAP still made science advances. He wished in the new year, with solid science foundation and outstanding researchers, IAP could have a new start and achieved greater achievements.
At the end of the meeting, Awards including IAP S&T Innovation Prize and IAP Best PhD Thesis Prize were presented.
