Nansen-Zhu International Research Center

Nansen-Zhu International Research Center (NZC) is a non-profit joint venture located at IAP.

NZC was established on 3 November 2003, with minister Borge Brende attending the opening ceremony.

Founding partners include: IAP/CAS, Beijing, China; Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center, Bergen, Norway; Norwegian Research Center, Bergen, Norway; University of Bergen, Bergen, Norway; Peking University, Beijing, China; Nanjing University, Nanjing, China; and Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, Nanjing, China.

The overarching goal of NZC is to be internationally acknowledged for climate research and training, with an emphasis on tropical and high-latitude regions, and the interactions between these regions, for past, present and future climate.

Future plan: continue and strengthen collaborations, particularly in on our core topics, but also aim to develop a thematically broader research portfolio.
