The 1st Congress of China Geodesy and Geophysics (1st CCGG) will take place in Beijing, China on 24-26 October 2014. The goal of this conference is to focus on the global sustainable development with multidisciplinary researches and provide scientific evidence for government decision-making and bring more knowledge to the public. It also examine how CNC-IUGG can link in to “Future Earth”, a 10-year international research programme jointly initiated by International Council for Science (ICSU), International Social Science Council ( ISSC ), Belmont Forum , UN Educational Scientific Cultural Organization ( UNESCO ), UN Environment Programme ( UNEP ), UN University ( UNU ) and World Meteorological Organization ( WMO )to further investigate linkages outside of CNC-IUGG and to plan for the 2015 IUGG General Assembly. The conference will be jointly hosted by the CNC-IUGG and the Academic Division of Earth Sciences,Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),organized by China University of Geosciences, co-organized by the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modelling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics(LASG),Institute of Atmospheric Physics ( IAP ) , CAS , Key Laboratory of Physical Oceanorgaphy , MOE , China and College of Global Change and Earth System Science , Beijing Normal University.
