Session title: Aerosol impacts on shallow clouds 

Abstract: Many aspects surrounding aerosol effects on shallow clouds, including stratiform clouds, cumulus clouds and fogs, remain elusive and challenging in observational, modeling as well as theoretical investigations. This session seeks presentations reporting progress and addressing the challenges with such aerosol-shallow cloud interactions. Studies are invited on, but not limited to, physical mechanisms, quantification of aerosol indirect effects, cloud processing of aerosols, aerosol effects on planetary boundary, turbulence, and cloud dynamics, separation of aerosol effects from other factors such as cloud dynamics and thermodynamics.

The AMS meeting will take place 4-8 January 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona. The deadline for abstract submission is 1 August 2014.  The conference web site can be accessed here
