US CIMMS Director, Prof. Peter Lamb visited IAP CAS on Dec.4-6, the main purpose of his visit is to discuss how to develop further research cooperation between two institutes and preparing details of the Second China-U.S. Symposium on Meteorology which will be held in China 2013, the theme of this symposium is: Severe Weather and Regional Climate Variability and Predictability.

Prof. Peter Lamb gave us a seminar with topic is: Professional Development for Providers of Seasonal Climate Prediction, he emphasized the importance of global atmosphere in the human life and data exchange among countries is very helpful to scientific research. Prof. Peter Lamb visited the key lab of Cloud-Precipitation Physics and Severe Storm of IAP and also made presentations in Peking University and China Meteorological Administration during this visit.
