Advances in Atmospheric Sciences (AAS), an international journal supported by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) and CNC-IAMAS and co-sponsored by Springer and Science Press, made its debut at the 94th American Meteorological Society (AMS) Annual Meeting exhibit on 2-6 Feb 2014. It was the first time for AAS to have a booth at an international conference attended by more than 3000 participants. The international visibility of AAS greatly increased.
And AAS also held its first oversea Editorial Board meeting during AMS meeting. The meeting was chaired by the Editors-in-Chief, Prof./academician Huijun Wang (IAP) and Prof. Ming Xue (University of Oklahoma). It was decided that AAS will move to monthly publication starting from 2015. This change of the publication schedule will expedite publication and attract more good-quality papers.
AAS editorial office learnt many useful experiences from other famous international journals and publishers via this opportunities and will work hard to develop AAS into an internationally leading journal on atmospheric sciences.
