Eco-Forum Global Annual Conference Guiyang 2014 was held in Guiyang, China from 10 to 12 July 2014. CNC-FE organized a session on “Climate Change and Future Earth” on 10 July. The session was chaired by the Chair of CNC-FE, Academician QIN Dahe. Invited speakers include Vice-chairs of CNC-FE Academician LIU Congqiang and WU Guoxiong, Past President of International Geographical Union Dr. Ronald F. Abler, Co-chair of IPCC AR5 WG1 Dr. Thomas Stocker, CAE Academician DING Yihui and the administrator of Guizhou Meteorological Administration ZHAO Guangzhong. The speakers also exchanged views with attendees on some of the conclusions of IPCC AR5, progress of Future Earth, climate change and drought in Southeast China, and regional climate change in Guizhou.

Organized around the main theme “Joining Hands, Leveraging Reforms to Bring Forth a New Era of Eco-Civilization” the Annual Conference 2014 is supported by five major themes: 1) Leverage reforms to grasp the strategic opportunities brought by green transformation of traditional industries and emergence of new industries; 2) Foster human-based green urbanization; 3) Re-safeguard ecological security through technological innovations; 4) Build pro eco-civilization value system and boost sustainable consumption based on dialogues among civilizations; 5) Cooperate to bridge post-2015 global governance frameworks for sustainable development.
