The Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and The Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC), University of Lancaster (LU) signed a Collaboration Agreement in Beijing on 5th November 2014. Prof. ZHU Jiang, Director General of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics and Prof. Kevin JONES, the Director of Lancaster Environment Centre, jointly signed the agreement.

The IAP and the LEC desire to undertake collaborative research activities, for the mutual benefit of both parties. The IAP and the LEC will collaborate in developing world-class research in atmospheric and climate sciences, research air quality and climate change with different scale models, and consider the establishment of a joint international centre on air quality modeling. Both parties will investigate funding sources to realise these opportunities, and promote exchange of staff and students between the two parties.
