"2018 LASG Postgraduate Academic Forum” was held on November 16, 2018. More than a hundred graduate students and researchers attended.
The event covered four topics: earth system model development and application, weather and climate dynamics, climate change, the predictability of weather and climate, and theories and methods of climate prediction. 12 postgraduates gave oral reports and 12 contributed posters. Students shared diverse ideas, and learned new field of study from each other. In the discussion session, a special jury composed of a number of senior LASG scientists evaluated each presentation and poster. Judges encouraged students to delve into the atmosphere science, and take every opportunity possible to present their work. They also shared their experience in delivering a good report on different occasions. In the closing ceremony, excellent reports and posters were awarded.
The forum organized by LASG Student Union is a lively platform for postgraduates to interact and review their progress to date and come up with ideas for further research.
